Billet aluminum is created by pouring molten aluminum into a billet mold, which is then cooled and solidified. The resulting aluminum block is then machined into the desired shape. This process creates a uniform grain structure throughout the material, which results in a stronger and more reliable receiver. In contrast, castings and forgings involve different methods of shaping aluminum, which can lead to the formation of voids, cracks, or other imperfections in the material. These imperfections can negatively affect the structural integrity of the receiver and decrease its lifespan.

Aircraft Grade Billet Heat Treated Aluminum is an alloy that is commonly used in aerospace and military applications. It is a high-strength material that has excellent resistance to fatigue and corrosion. Additionally, it has a high strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for use in firearms. This process results in a stronger material with a more uniform grain structure than castings, but not as strong as billet aluminum. On the other hand, billet aluminum is created by pouring molten aluminum into a billet mold, which is then machined into the desired shape. The resulting product is much stronger and more accurate than a forging. However, machining billet aluminum requires significantly more machine time, which translates to a higher cost to manufacture. While using forgings may be a cost-effective option, it is not the superior choice in terms of strength and accuracy.
