Engineer for production
Apply DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, GD&T, validation,

What you will own
- Lead product-development and improvement programs from requirements definition through production release.
- Own project scope, milestones, stage-gate reviews, risks, schedules, budgets, and product-cost targets.
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD assemblies, 2D manufacturing drawings, specifications, and technical data packages.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance-stack studies, ASME Y14.5 GD&T analysis, and mechanical stress analysis.
- Plan prototype builds, verification and validation testing, durability evaluations, and engineering test reports.
- Lead root-cause investigations and document corrective actions for failures and nonconformances.
- Manage BOMs, ECR/ECN workflows, drawing releases, revision history, and implementation planning.
- Support first-article inspection, dimensional verification, supplier qualification, and production readiness.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least five years of mechanical product-design and development experience with precision-machined assemblies.
- Advanced 3D CAD and 2D drafting capability; SolidWorks proficiency is preferred.
- Practical command of ASME Y14.5 GD&T, dimensional analysis, tolerance studies, and design verification.
- Working knowledge of CNC machining, assembly processes, materials, heat treatments, coatings, and quality controls.
- Experience with engineering change management, BOMs, technical data packages, and ERP/MRP or PLM workflows.
Especially valuable
- Experience with small-arms engineering, firearms manufacturing, or regulated precision-mechanical products.
- Familiarity with 1911/2011 platforms, FEM/FEA, simulation, stage-gate development, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with Odoo or similar ERP systems, supplier development, engineering cost tracking, or IP support.
Work environment
- Primarily on-site in an office and precision-manufacturing environment in Prosperity, South Carolina.
- Periodic work in inspection, laboratory, and authorized product-test settings.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodations as required by law.
